Have you ever wondered why there are thousands of weight loss products? Or wondered why one might work for you, or why one might make you gain weight? Why weight might just fall off, but then you hit a wall? There are so many factors that go into fast weight loss success that I could write about it forever. Here I will walk you through some main points so you get the most weight loss from your diet program without stress to better help you reach your goals.
Why Is Weight Loss So Hard For Most?
As someone who has lost a lot of weight then spent years trying to keep it off, I have to say it is definitely harder to keep the weight off than it is to lose it. I’ll be honest and say I hate dieting; it makes me angry and sometimes stressed out. I’ve realized though that as I get older it’s the one thing that keeps my body going. Weird, right?
What I mean is dieting, or “eating right”, not only helps control my diabetes, but my joint pain, my strength, my energy, and my cholesterol. Honestly dieting helps with my EVERYTHING. Ugh. Why doesn’t Mcdonalds have something to fix my everything?
How to lose weight? How to keep it off? So many people struggle with those two questions and this is probably the biggest reason why…you sure you want to hear this? OK I’m gonna tell you. YOU are setup to fail, and fail miserably. That’s it!
Look all around you, whether you’re online, on TV, listening to the radio, or even grocery shopping at the store you’re being bombarded with cheap delicious looking greasy food. In our busy lives it is so convenient so we give in. Before you know it you’ve packed on 5 lbs then 10 lbs without even trying.
To make it even worse eating healthy is difficult. Go to the store and pick out what little healthy choices they have, it’ll cost you 2-4 times more to make a healthy meal. And try to find a fast food restaurant with a healthy choice on their dollar menu, or even any good choice on the whole menu, it’s not happening in this lifetime. Maybe when Jesus comes back?
With all the diets out there how do I find one that works for me? This is hard because we are all different, with different body types, different metabolisms, and different ages. What might really work for you might not work for someone else. And what might have worked for you in your 20s might not work for you in your 30s and 40s. Sometimes getting old sucks.
This is why in order to really succeed with your weight you have to have a diet mindset. You need to be somewhat aware of what you’re eating, when you’re eating it, and make sure you’re not eating just to lose weight but also to be healthy and have great energy. We need to understand that some indulgence in our temptation foods is okay with portion control, and that around the holidays take a break and maybe give our self 5 lbs. We need to understand that our bodies are different and certain factors have huge effects such as age.
We all have to live with food and be real about how we do that.
Diet Mindset – Are You Ready To Lose Weight?
How To Lose Weight? How To Have Fast Weight Loss Success? Well it all starts with your mind. Yep it starts with YOU! So where’s your mind at? Are you serious or are you just playing with yourself? Get your mind out of the gutter, you know what I mean. If you’re not honest with yourself you’re not going to be real with your diet and probably just give up at the first sign of weakness. So do you really care or not? Do you want to change, or are you gonna stay the same for the rest of your life?
If you’re REALLY serious then you have to develop a serious Diet Mindset about your life and what you put in it. You have to be aware of the foods you eat and when you eat them. You need to know what might be full of salt, or sugar, and actually plan out how you eat. If I eat a lot of salt in one meal I’ll try to cut it out for the rest of the day, same with sugar. I also try to eat sugars and carbs more for breakfast or lunch so I have the rest of the day to burn them off. Eating them in the evening or before bed is the worst and will really pack on the pounds.
I know this sounds hard, but to truly be good at anything one has to practice and gain knowledge on what they are doing. So to truly have control over your weight you have to learn and make time for your success.
To get the most out of a fast weight loss plan you have to get your mind ready. Ready for the types of food you’ll eat, the times you’ll eat, and the times you shouldn’t eat. You must know what do in those weak times to help get through. All this can be stressful, but if you take the time before you start the diet to think over these things you will answer these questions before they become problems and you give up.
Goals For Fast Weight Loss Success
It is so important to write out your goals that you want from your diet plan. It will help motivate you when you’re down or weak, and help you focus on success. It’s good to write down goals for every area in your life. Start with short term goals from your diet plan, then a long term goal for after. Give yourself time frames such as, I want to lose 8 pounds in 2 weeks.
Make sure the goals are adjustable, because we live in the real world and things happen or change. Also, make sure they are realistic. Losing 8 pounds in a week is not likely to happen, but in 2-3 weeks it is. Make sure the goals are measurable, which means that if 8 pounds in 2 weeks is the goal, then after week 1 I should see 4 pounds gone when I weigh myself.
Find your inner motivation – no one can make you lose weight and only you know what’s going to give you the burning drive to stick to your fast weight loss plan. Maybe it’s an upcoming wedding or beach vacation, or maybe you just want better over all health. Whatever it is just make sure you can call on your motivation factors during moments of temptation. Maybe post an encouraging note to yourself on the pantry door and make sure you can find REAL support from encouraging friends or family.
Planning – Eliminate That Dieting Stress
“How to lose weight?” is not the real question you want to ask. What you really want to ask is “how can I get the maximum weight loss from any short term diet program with the least amount of stress, so I won’t give up?”. The answer is to plan, plan, plan your eating and your life around your diet. Plan out what you will eat, when you will eat it, and what to do in moments of weakness.
I would premake my meals so when it was time to eat I just went to the fridge and got it. When I could have a healthy snack I had 10 to choose from. I wasn’t stressed out everyday thinking about what to eat for my diet because it was ready for me when it was time to eat. I made sure I had plenty of choices so I didn’t get sick of eating the same stuff.
Premake meals for the following 2 days if you can, so day 1 you’re preparing then day 2 and 3 you’re just pulling it out of the fridge and going. If you have a busy life plan your cooking on the slow days so you won’t end up possibly cheating with junk food on the busy ones. That’s the easiest time to give up – when we’re in a hurry!!!
Rest and hydration are also key to keeping your energy levels up during your diet and for keeping your metabolism burning and removing body fat. So plan for more sleep and drink plenty to flush out that fat quicker.
